Romania

Romania is a country in south-eastern Europe, with Bucharest as its capital. In the second half of the 20th century it built up a state-owned electronics industry, concentrated largely in Bucharest, which produced consumer electronics, components, computers and professional equipment, including electronic measuring instruments [1].

After 1989 most of these enterprises were privatised, and by the end of the 2000s state production of professional electronic equipment had practically disappeared [1].
